If you are looking for a fantastic location for your studio space then look no further!

The Old Oar House on Johnsons Island.

As well as Johnson's Island having a small gallery, it also has small/medium studio workshops available for artists or craftspeople. These studio workshops have to be the finest locations in London, the island is actually alongside a large weir which allows all the excess water from the Grand Union Canal to flow into the Thames, creating one of the best ionisers in the United Kingdom.

Prices start from just £20 per week inclusive of electricity, heating, business rates etc.

 

 

Resident artists are entitled to:

 

Their own web page listing their work and reciprocal links to other web sites.

3 group shows a year in the Brentford Gallery with no additional commission charges.

They can also hire the gallery at 50% the current rate should they wish.

Communal seating area and tea/coffee making facilities.

Reference library.

 

Warning! Wellington's are needed once or twice a year when the bottom of Catherine Wheel Rd is flooded. For a number of years Johnson's Island has supplied studio space for numerous artists and also other craftsperson's including furniture restorers.

 

The Island is connected to the mainland by a small footpath, hand trolleys are used for transporting goods back and forth.
